Thelma Terry

Thelma Terry, 92, of 401 S. Rains St., died at 9:20 p.m., Wednesday, March 19, 2003 at the Herrin Hospital.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2003 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home, Benton with Rev. Jerry Woolsey officiating.  Burial was in the Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery, Benton.  Visitation was from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Ms. Terry was born March 1, 1911 in Villa Ridge, IL, the daughter of Barney and Nora Ellen (Smith) Woolsey.  

She worked as a housekeeper at the U.M.W.A. Union Hospital in West Frankfort until her retirement in 1976.  She was of the Protestant faith.

She is survived by two sons, Ron and wife Gladys Terry, Valier, Michael Terry, Orient, two daughters, Nedra and husband Ed Davy, Christopher, Joyce Eubanks, Benton, fourteen grandchildren, Angela Hiller, West Frankfort, Donna and husband John Branum, West Frankfort, Debbie Brown, Claremore, OK, Ronald Terry, Jr. and wife Traci, Thompsonville, Scott Pankey, West Frankfort, Greg Pankey, California, Tina and husband James Renner, Florida, Chuck McEndree and wife Janet, Branson, MO,  Susan and husband Rick Renner, Florida, Thelma and husband Greg Vaupel, McLeansboro, Lisa and husband Freddy Hernandez, West Frankfort, Michael Terry, North Dakota,  Brad and Brett Terry, both of Zeigler, twenty-five great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, three brothers, Jerry Woolsey, Gary Woolsey, and Jim and wife Sharon Woolsey, all of DuQuoin, three sisters, Marie Todd, Indiana, Donna Adams, Florida, Margie and husband Harry Provart, DuQuoin, and several nieces and nephews.

Ms. Terry was predeceased by her parents, three children, Peggy Viernum, Marilyn Eubanks, and Dolly Cantrell, four brothers, Harry, Clifford, Dennis, and Barney Woolsey, and one sister, Jenita Perry.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation and will be accepted at the funeral home.
